Rudder sings Black Stalin’s compositions in Narell’s arrangements
Producer Andy Narell’s official project page describes David Rudder’s interpretations of Black Stalin’s music and credits all six compositions to Leroy Calliste. Rudder supplies lead and background vocals; Narell is credited with production, arrangements, recording and mixing, as well as keyboards, steel pans and percussion. The personnel include Theron Shaw on guitar and Tilo Bertholo on drums. Isaac Narell receives the horn-arrangement credit, and Raphael Jonin the mastering credit. This role separation matters: Rudder’s performance credit does not replace Calliste’s authorship, and the album is not presented as six original compositions by Rudder.
