Find the specific Pathé film
British Pathé identifies its film as Pathe Reporter Meets (1948), archive number 1430.37. Its opening item features Ingrid Bergman and Alfred Hitchcock at Heathrow; the later item moves to the Empire Windrush at Tilbury.
The archive’s description names reporter John Parsons and says Lord Kitchener sings a calypso about London at the end of his interview. This identifies the filmed performance without treating the modern YouTube upload date as the song’s creation date.

Honest Jon’s opens its first London Is the Place for Me compilation with Kitchener’s song, connecting it to Windrush migration.

Read the edition and version wording
The selected remastered single explicitly features Freddy Grant’s Carribean Rhythm, using the provider’s spelling. Apple’s song entry on 8 carries December 11, 2009; that song date is distinct from the album edition’s December 13, 2019 date. Neither dates the 1948 newsreel or establishes identical audio across later carriers.
The archival interview, the label compilation and the remastered single should therefore remain distinct listening objects unless further recording evidence connects them.
