Drupatee

The story so far.

Drupatee Ramgoonai is a singer from Penal associated with chutney and chutney soca. In her 2012 career interview she described her commitment to performing, while the account records further Indian classical training with HS Adesh. It places Chutney Soca in 1987 and Mr Bissessar (Roll up the Tassa) in the following year. These historical accounts are separate from the dates attached to later digital editions. Drupatee recalled performing in India with Rikki Jai and at Madison Square Garden with Machel Montano. Her repertoire also extends to songs such as Real Unity and the Christmas-season Chutney Parang and Fruit Cake. The catalog keeps her Drupatee and Drupatee Ramgoonai provider identities separate, preserving album tracklists and the specific titles of collaborative versions instead of assuming that every repeated song name identifies the same recording.
